Abstract
Nissen fundoplication, a surgical procedure for treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), is often performed in conjunction with hiatal hernia repair. This observational study aims to evaluate the outcomes of patients undergoing these procedures in Tampa, FL. We examined postoperative results, patient satisfaction, and long-term efficacy, providing insights into the effectiveness and potential complications associated with this surgical intervention.
Introduction
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a prevalent condition affecting millions globally, characterized by the backflow of stomach contents into the esophagus, causing symptoms like heartburn and regurgitation. In cases where lifestyle modifications and pharmacological treatments fail, surgical intervention becomes necessary.
